Osteopathische Medizin
Siegbert Tempelhof, Johannes R. Weingart

    Abstract
Osteopathy is based on manual medicine, founded in 1874 by the american MD Dr. Andrew Taylor Still (1828-1917) in Kirksville, Missouri. Osteopathic medicine is predicated on a philosophy of health, disease and health care. The key principles are the unit of the body, the capability of self-healing and the reciprocally interrelation of structure and function. The parietal, viszeral and craniosacral system are three complexly interdependent anatomical parts. Therapeutically osteopathic treatment is directed towards elimination of the osteopathic lesion and regaining of the tissue mobility in the context with skeletal, arthrodial, muscular, fascial, vascular, lymphatic and neural elements.

    Abstract
Prolotherapy is defined as a reconstructive ligament therapy in joint instability. The substances which are used, the injection technique, their side effects and the prognosis after injection will be pointed out. Ligaments are the main stabilizing structures of all joints. Their different structures, change-able function, capability of compensation and the causes of dysfunction are pointed out in this article. There seems to be the need for some information concerning the definition of joint stability, joint hypermobility, joint instability and the phenomenon of ligamental dysbalance. With this synopsis the lack of information should be diminished in the german speaking countries.

    Abstract
With AORT, we have a gentle osteopathic technic to our disposition, which can be applied very efficiently with many kinds of kinetic dysfunctions. Especially with problematic cases (Osteoporosis, anxious patients), it presents a riskless method, because it is mainly based on the process of putting the patient into a painless posture. In this way, the body gets the exact information for solving the dysfunction. Triggerpoints are used for diagnostic purposes as well as for the control of position and therapy. AORT can be learned easily and integrated soon in the daily practice.
